Himalayan Goji Berry Juice – Learn the Facts and Myths
Himalayan goji berry juice – Scientific facts and popular myths and personal experiences.
The so-called Himalayan Goji Berry Juice is made by an MLM company called FreeLife. The name is not entirely accurate as the berries used to make juice out of do not come from the Himalayan Mountains. The fact is that the climate and the soil are both unsuitable for the cultivation for not only the goji berry but any fruit whatsoever. Why FreeLife decided then to call their product Himalayan goji berry juice one can only guess. In all likelihood, it is just to put an appealing face on the product in order to make it more attractive in the eyes of an audience that is drawn to things from exotic Eastern places. One may or may not have a problem with that.
The goji phenomenon is a fairly recent one as the goji craze has not reached the United States and the other western countries until the early 2000s. This is not the case when it comes to eastern natural medicine especially in China. Generally, the healing effects attributed to goji include the improvement of circulation and cardiovascular health, the strengthening of the immune system. You can read what can be considered a thorough list of ailments the fruit is supposed to be helpful for here.
In general, though, people who have taken the Himalayan goji berry juice for an extended period of time, report that they have gained more energy, have been more resistant to common illnesses such as the cold or flu and gained an increased ability to get a good night sleep.
One medical doctor reports that one of his patients claimed that her blood sugar level dropped to a level where she had to cut back on her doctor-prescribed medication, her being a diabetic. You can read the article here. While it has been repeatedly said that medical science does not support this claim, in the article mentioned above there is a reference to a study in animals that showed that the Himalayan goji berry juice does have the ability to lower blood sugar.
The fact remains that medical science remains unexcited about the seemingly miraculous effects of the goji berry. It is party due to the handy work of companies and individuals who tend to be ‘over zealous’ in trumping the product, and it may also have to do with the fact that the experts in the field tend to be in the back pocket of pharmaceutical companies. You decide for yourself.
