Himalayan Goji Juice and Professional Sports

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Screen shot of brutusreport.comI came across that offers Ohio State player and recruit interviews the other day. If you are an Ohioan, or - if for some reason feel some sort of desire to root for an Ohio team - this is a great resource for you. It features interviews with players among other things including a forum where you, the user and sports fan, can express your opinions. They cover football, the NFL and basketball.

It also made me think about the role natural medicine plays in professional sports today. I came to the conclusion that it isn’t much of a role. The Himalayan goji juice for instance could help an athlete regenerate quicker; and by reducing the levels of free radicals, it could help an individual to extend his or her professional carrier in sports. Unfortunately, instead of this we hear more and more stories about steroid abuse.

It is also hard for people to see the benefit of an herb such as the Himalayan goji berry, because the strength of natural substances are in the area of prevention. In today’s world, we tend to employ a hands-off approach until there is something seriously wrong.

Goji Juice Distributor Information

Himalyan Goji Juice – A Shameless Marketing Ploy?Readers of this blog have indicated that they wanted a list of goji juice distributors.

I am in the process of compiling whatever information I can find on individuals and companies that are in the business of selling goji products. I would also link to extend an invitation to any of these persons and business entities to register with this blog to make my job easier while promoting themselves.

The truth is, though, that you do not have to go through a goji juice distributor to purchase goji products. I have compiled a list of sources for both goji juice and other forms of goji that you could purchase alternatively. Here is my post on that topic.

Just to recap briefly, FreeLife’s Himalayan Goji Juice may have been the first on the market, but if you want to pay a lot less and still have it organic, you should consider Dynamic Health’s product. Better yet, forget about the juice, and make tea out of the dried fruit.

Dr. Mindell Goji Juice

Friday, April 25th, 2008

Dr. Mindell is the guy behind the craze that swept across America since the early 2000’s. Up until that point, I haven’t even heard of goji or that it could be ingested as juice.

While Dr. Mindell’s goji juice was first on the market in the United States, they certainly didn’t discover the herb. The Chinise have been using it for a really long time, for almost two thousand years.

Not just that, but seeing the success of the Dr. Mindell goji juice phenomena, others wanted a piece of the pie as well. If you want cheap goji juice, but which is really good quality, try Dynamic Health’s Goji Juice. It is much cheaper.

However, getting the benefits of the herb does not require that you take it in juice form. You can buy bulk quantities of the dried fruit and cook it into your food or brew it into a tea. And why not, that is what the Chinese do.

Goji Juice Lies - Separting Fact From Fiction

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Goji in itself seems to be a good herbal supplement. It has high levels of anti oxidants, which has been shown to slow down the effects of aging. While most berries have the a same properties, this is still commendable.

The problem comes in with FreeLife claiming that their product is from the Himalayas by calling it the Himalayan Goji Juice. They say they have tested a number of goji varieties, they will not go as far as going on record that the type of goji berry they are using is form the Himalayas. And the fact remains that goji that is commercially grown comes form big farms in China. That is the only part that can be considered a goji juice lie.

Buy Goji Without Braking the Bank

Buy Goji Without Braking the BankBuy goji – 2 sources for juice and some for dried berries.

You may have hear of the benefits of goji juice, you may have even gotten excited and decided that you wanted to try some. The problem is that it was too expensive. Here a few places where you can get your hands on some without ending up in the poorhouse, but make sure that you do not get ripped off when it comes to the quality.

Let’s start with the dried berries. They are my favorite since they cost the less and you can make tea out of them (or even add them to your dishes like rice, the way the Chinese do it). Why pay the premium for the expensive goji juice when it is probably made out of the dried fruit anyway. There is no real reason behind making juice out of it except raising the perceived value of the end product. If it wasn’t for the bottle, they would have to sell glorified resins. We are more likely to shell out $52 for single quart of the juice (this is what FreeLife, one of the manufacturers is charging for a liter) than for dried fruit the same volume.

If $52 is a little steep for a singe month of supply of the stuff, but you have your heart set on the juice form of ‘delivery’, you might want to consider the company called Dynamic Heath. Their stuff is a lot less expensive, but they are also certified organic, so you wouldn’t be compromising quality either. A single one-liter bottle of their product cost less than $20, which can make a huge difference for some people.

Off course, that is not all the savings a savvy person shopping on the Internet can get. You can sign up with the multi-level marketing company FreeLife for two accounts, one under the other, and buy goji using the second account so you can pocket the commission. Their first time buyers also get a substancial discount, and you can stretch that buy teaming up with like minded people and buy in bulk. You can save a lot of money that way.

It does not matter, where you buy goji from, but it is important that it is certified organic. Normally, I am not the type who has to have organic food all the time. In this case though, I would definitely go with organic. In Asia, they still use a lot of pesticide and other chemicals that can be harmful if you take goji for a long period of time.

Tibetan Goji Berries – Learn the Facts and Myths

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Tibetan Goji BerriesTibetan goji berries – Science, traditional uses, testimonials and history.

The goji fruit is a red-orange berry that has been used in eastern medicine for a hundreds of years, or maybe even thousands of years. The shrub tends to grow to about three to nine feet in height depending on the region in which it is cultivated.

While one of the manufacturers of goji juice, FreeLife, branded their product ‘Himalayan Goji Juice’ the berries used to make the product are not from the famous mountain range. By the same token the term Tibetan goji berries is also a misnomer. The fruit that is available for purchase most likely to have been picked on a farm somewhere in Western or Central China.

It is true that the use of the goji berry probably originated in and around Tibet. However, the varieties that grow in the region are wild ones that would not be able to meet world demand. The production of the fruit for commercial purposes takes place in China simply because both the soil and the whether are inadequate to do the job. The soil is too lean and the temperatures are too cold.

Traditionally, the Tibetan goji berries are used to strengthen the immune system, clean the liver, better circulation and aid with male reproduction. It is also supposed to slow down the aging process by reducing the levels of free radicals in the body. Read a thorough list of benefits of goji juice, both medicinal and culinary, here.

The effects that most people report are increased vitality and a better resistance to disease. Some also claim that they could get a better night’s sleep after taking goji for a longer period of time. There are also some reports that the fruit may also be helpful when it comes to treating diabetes. This claim was questioned for a long time, but a recent study shows that it may be true in animals. Read unsolicited reviews and testimonials here.

There are two major makers of goji juice. One, is FreeLife, the multi-level marketing company and Dynamic Health. The stuff from FreeLife is better known but it cost more ($52 per liter), while the juice made by Dynamic Health may only cost you about $18 and it is 100% organic.

An even more cost effective way to get the benefits of Tibetan goji berries is to buy them dried and make a tea out of them. The dehydrated berries can be found all over the Internet on websites like Amazon.

Dynamic Health Goji Juice – Cheaper Than FreeLife Himalayan Goji Juice

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Dynamic Health Goji JuiceDynamic Health goji juice – Over 60% cheaper and 100% organic.

For a long time, the only place to get your goji juice was from FreeLife, the MLM company. Even though, the product is good quality and people who have been using it for a while swear by it. The are two problems with it. One, they market it as Himalayan Goji Juice, when the berries used in making the juice are not form the Himalayas at all. Goji is cultivated on large farms in certain parts of China. Two, it is really pricy. If you are willing to pay retail, it will cost you $52. You will get a discount, if you are a first-time buyer, but technically you are stuck paying big bucks for only a month supply of the substance. Read my article on how to make these discounts last practically forever with some creative shopping on your part here. Since, FreeLife is a multi-level marketing company, you can also sign up as a member and get paid for selling to other people. You could get a discount by asking some one you know to let you use their name to create an account under you, and use that account to make purchases for yourself and pocket the commission at the same time. Just About Anything.

One, even better, way to go about getting your hands on cheap goji is by buying Dynamic Health goji juice. You do not have to be a member of anything, you can just get on a website that sells the stuff and make a purchase. Generally, you can get the Dynamic Health goji juice for about $18 which is less than a third of what FreeLife is charging for the same amount. Of course, advocates of the FreeLife stuff are not a big fan of Dynamic Health, but I think it may have more to do with competition than quality. The product is said to be certified organic, which is a good indication of quality. (It is also absolutely necessary since in third world countries, farmers use pesticides that can easily counteract the benefits goji juice may have.) FreeLife people are basically unhappy that some one is cutting into their business.

To buy the Dynamic Health goji juice, you can get on Amazon and find some good deals there. This is a direct link to the search page for Dynamic Health Goji Juice.

One even cheaper way to get goji, is to do what the Chinese do: buy dry berries and make a tea out of them.

Pure Goji Juice – Buy at Wholesale for Life

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

Pure Goji Juice – Buy at Wholesale for LifePure goji juice – 27+ percent off the regular price as long as you live.

You probably heard of the benefits one can enjoy by taking goji juice on a regular basis. The problem is that if you buy FreeLife’s Himalayan Goji Juice, it will set you back $52 for every single liter (quart). However, the great thing is that you can get a substantial discount if it is your first time buying the product. It will only cost you $36.50 for the same bottle.

Now, obviously the discount will not apply to any further purchases of pure goji juice. There are a couple of ways that one might be able to work around that so that they could still enjoy the discount in the future as well.

Do you have a bunch of friends who also want to jump on the goji juice bandwagon? Pool your money together, and make a purchase in bulk under a single account. Say, you have three other people you know who are willing to join you in this operation. One of you signs up as a brand new customer and buys a four-pack of the one-liter bottles of the juice. At the so-called ‘Advantage Price’, you would only pay a total of $134.95, which only comes to about $33.74 per bottle. This is because you are making a purchase in bulk, so you get a discount for that as well. Since there are four of you in all, you will be able to enjoy your goji at this rate of discount, but you would never have to pay in full for the four-pack. You continue doing this until everyone have signed up and got the ‘Advantage Price’ as a result. If you had more friends, you could go even longer doing this.

There is one other way to get your pure goji juice at the discount, but it requires some creative thinking and doing. Some of you may not be comfortable with this idea; even tough you would be doing nothing illegal or immoral. It must be said for the record that it definitely falls into the category of a ‘gray area’, so try this at your own risk.

You could create aliases to get the cheap price over and over again. You could use a different name, a different email address and even a different mailing address if you could convince your friends or relatives to go along with this. Then you would have to sign up for a PayPal account, if you don’t have one yet. This website is the Internet’s premiere peer-to-peer payment portal, they have been around for long time. They have been offering a feature for a while they call a virtual credit card. You can download software that will generate a MasterCard number linked to your account that can only be used for a single purchase. It was designed as an added layer of security, but you can use this to your advantage. This way you will have a unique credit card account to use with your new alias, and you can add your friend’s or relative’s mailing address as an alternative shipping address to your PayPal account in a matter of seconds. FreeLife would be none the wiser, and you would not pay retail for your pure goji juice again.

FreeLife Goji Juice – Good Product, Tons of Misinformation

Monday, March 17th, 2008

FreeLife Goji Juice – Good Product, Tons of MisinformationFreeLife goji juice – List of benefits and the truth behind some claims.

FreeLife is the maker of a bottled product called the ‘Himalayan Goji Juice.’ They have been on the scene for a few years, and their product is gaining popularity. They sell one liter bottles for $52 dollars, even tough, in some cases you may only have to pay less than forty dollars.

The believers of the product claim that it helped them with a number of health problems. They include better circulation and overall cardiovascular health, better sleep and a stronger and more resilient immune system. This is expected in a way since the goji berry has been used to aid with these problems for countless centuries. In China, it is also said to help with sperm production in males and keeping the liver in ‘ship shape.’

It has been shown that the one of the most significant benefits of taking FreeLife goji juice may be the effect it may have on aging. As it turns out, as most berries, it is loaded with antioxidants that are known for inhibiting free radicals. Free radicals are basically toxins that build up in the body due to stress and tend to have an adverse effect on long-term health.

However, some of the other claims have come under scrutiny. The government of New Zealand is investigating resellers of the juice as they have claimed that it helped with diseases as serious as cancer. Making such claims without definitive proof is not legal in most countries.

What adds to the controversy and helps to take a bite out of the creditability of FreeLife goji juice is the fact that they call their product Himalayan Goji Juice when the berries used to make the juice don’t come anywhere near the famous Himalaya Mountains. The origin of the fruit may very well be in that part of the world, but commercial growing and production of stuff is just not possible due to a couple of reasons. One is the soil as it is much too lean an infertile, and two, the whether is less than accommodating as it is much too cold. One can be certain that the leaders of FreeLife were well aware of this fact before they named their product, but decided to go with it anyway as it was more likely to succeed this way. It is a shame though, as the this substance shows a lot of promise and has already improved lots of people’s life.

Himalayan Goji Berry Juice – Learn the Facts and Myths

Himalayan Goji Berry Juice – Learn the Facts and MythsHimalayan goji berry juice – Scientific facts and popular myths and personal experiences.

The so-called Himalayan Goji Berry Juice is made by an MLM company called FreeLife. The name is not entirely accurate as the berries used to make juice out of do not come from the Himalayan Mountains. The fact is that the climate and the soil are both unsuitable for the cultivation for not only the goji berry but any fruit whatsoever. Why FreeLife decided then to call their product Himalayan goji berry juice one can only guess. In all likelihood, it is just to put an appealing face on the product in order to make it more attractive in the eyes of an audience that is drawn to things from exotic Eastern places. One may or may not have a problem with that.

The goji phenomenon is a fairly recent one as the goji craze has not reached the United States and the other western countries until the early 2000s. This is not the case when it comes to eastern natural medicine especially in China. Generally, the healing effects attributed to goji include the improvement of circulation and cardiovascular health, the strengthening of the immune system. You can read what can be considered a thorough list of ailments the fruit is supposed to be helpful for here.

In general, though, people who have taken the Himalayan goji berry juice for an extended period of time, report that they have gained more energy, have been more resistant to common illnesses such as the cold or flu and gained an increased ability to get a good night sleep.

One medical doctor reports that one of his patients claimed that her blood sugar level dropped to a level where she had to cut back on her doctor-prescribed medication, her being a diabetic. You can read the article here. While it has been repeatedly said that medical science does not support this claim, in the article mentioned above there is a reference to a study in animals that showed that the Himalayan goji berry juice does have the ability to lower blood sugar.

The fact remains that medical science remains unexcited about the seemingly miraculous effects of the goji berry. It is party due to the handy work of companies and individuals who tend to be ‘over zealous’ in trumping the product, and it may also have to do with the fact that the experts in the field tend to be in the back pocket of pharmaceutical companies. You decide for yourself.
